[ So Jion was reckless and dumb enough to try and tackle the vines with just one of those old scythes he'd been given as a quest reward and ended up with a bunch of bramble scratches. Maya probably only knows about it because she had the misfortune of stumbling upon him sleeping somewhere outside.
In any case, it seems his inbuilt immunity to diseases doesn't extend to curses, because Jion had ultimately fallen into a deep sleep like the other victims to the curse. So there he is, curled up on his bed fast asleep.
Good thing he left his window open a crack, allowing for pretty easy access. ]
[ Maya is thankfully cured through methods she'd rather not think about-- but more importantly, she's hauled things back from the castle (that she'd also largely prefer not to think about in great detail) and she's making a quick round of the town to see who still needs help.
Jion hasn't responded to her attempts to reach him, over the forum and otherwise, so Maya's grateful that she doesn't actually need to cause property damage to get to him when she finds that open window. Good thing he's sleeping so deeply through the racket she causes getting it open and hauling herself through the window.
It really only takes a few tries before she realizes he's too far gone to shake awake, which is... fine, because she's got a remedy.
Namely, a medieval, rusting chastity belt that she delicately places over his crotch without removing any clothes whatsoever because she's Not Going There. ]
[ They can both be thankful he's wearing nice bulky army slacks with thick fabric that totally doesn't stick to his body or anything.
Still, for one heart-stopping second, Maya might wonder if maybe the chastity belt needs to be used 'properly' -- AKA sans clothes -- to break the curse. Because Jion doesn't stir at first, still appearing deep asleep.
Then he frowns a touch, head shifting against the pillow, and suddenly bolts upright. ]
-- I'm up! Sorry, sir!
[ His voice is still hoarse with sleep, and he's clearly heavily disoriented. ]
[ He has really awful bedhead from sleeping for so long. Jion gives Maya a really sleepy, confused blink. And then gives a small nod. ]
Right. Thank you, commander. Sorry, I thought I'd be recovered by now, but it's just ... been kinda hard ... [ His words trail off as he sags forward and slumps onto Maya. This curse is going to take some time to shake off, and he's still sort of half-asleep. ]
[ Maya daintily reaches over to knock the chastity belt across the room before Jion is anywhere near alert enough to notice it and question it. Slump away, all is well now. ]
Do you know how long you've...
... Well, no, I guess you wouldn't. You don't even know who I am right now...
[ It's some small consolation that he doesn't put up much resistance, easily slumping right back against Maya.
Not that that totally fixes the situation. ]
If it's for a test, I can probably still do it as long as I don't have to run, I think. [ He goes quiet for a moment before drowsily moving to get off the bed. ] Should I go get it?
[ He sleepily mashes his face in Maya's shoulder for a moment, mumbling, ]
S'weird though, I've never taken this long to recover. Was this testing something again? I don't really remember -- ... [ He raises his head and then gives a slow, confused blink upon seeing her face. ] ... Maya?
I did? [ He's definitely starting to feel a little bit more like himself, though it's still a slow transition. Jion blinks sleepily, rubbing at his face. ] Why did I do that ...
[ For a moment, he looks ready to doze back off, but looks back up abruptly. ]
-- did I act like you were nice or scary? 'Cause you wouldn't be one of the scary ones, even if you were my commander.
I've had some really scary commanders. So I feel like it would've been mean to you if I thought you were one of them. Since you're really nice. And reasonable. And nice ...
I think so. I do feel like I overslept. And that, like, never happens. [ And then, as if he's just realizing it's kind of unusual for Maya to be in his room. ] ... sorry, did you come to check in on me? Was I sleeping that long?
What happened was... something like an infection. Feeling sick and tired, and then gradually getting more and more fatigued until you fall asleep and stay that way.
[ She's observed a lot, before coming down with it herself. ]
[ Jion looks a little startled by that, frowning as he scuffs a hand through his hair. ]
... you're right, I kinda remember feeling like that. Tired and stuff. Man, I've never been sick before, though. This place really is kinda scary with stuff like that, huh.
Um, I think so? I still feel kind of sleepy, but I guess it's good I'm awake ...
[ He glances down at himself, flexing his hands and prodding himself. His head definitely still feels a little hazy, but nothing feels too out of the norm. ]
Yeah, I think I'll be okay. And, um, thanks for fixing me. I guess you came here for that, huh, I owe you a big one.

... I definitely need a nap myself, after this...

F-forgiven?!

I dunno ... I feel like I should be recovered by now. It's been a full day, right? Most injuries should be done by now, I think ...
[ A drowsy grunt before he raises his head a bit, looking off in the direction of that chastity belt. Didn't he just hear a thumping noise? ]
... did you throw something? Wha' was that?

A torture device. It's dead now.

[ Firmly. ]
Your body's probably still going to be weak for a bit. You need to take it a little slower.
[ Which is entirely true, but also she doesn't want him anywhere near that thing. ]

But you seemed to think I was your commander.

[ He looks down at his arms. Of course, those shallow bramble scratches have long since healed over. ]
The vines were starting to make it hard to get around, so I tried to get rid of some of them. And I think some of the thorns got through my jacket.
