[ In Maya's opinion, it isn't. It's never too much, and she counts herself lucky that she doesn't have to ask. Shiho relaxes almost imperceptibly, and Maya's sigh of relief is just as subtle, before her grip tightens around the other girl and she rests her cheek against that fluffy hair.

[There is something so comforting about being held, she thinks, letting Maya lean against her in turn and reading with her hands on Maya's back that she misses Minato just as much.
They all do. And just knowing that has Shiho in a complicated mix of resentment that the world had dared to take him away from all of them and relief that no matter what, he would not be forgotten or abandoned. Her voice trembles a little:]

Much as I love dramatic reveals, I think we can probably skip them for now.

[ She can tell that Shiho's not actually trying to pick it up from her as she hesitates-- but that in itself is what helps her decide how to respond, and she closes her eyes briefly and lets her expression smooth out. ]
It's a little complicated, but-- yes, once.
