There are some things that are harder to talk about than others. It doesn't always have to do with trust... just that it's painful to talk about, and the painful things are the ones that get stuck in your throat more than anything.

[Shiho's hands are clutched tight in her lap, her own tea forgotten as she listens. And for a moment she kind of thinks... it would be nice to grow up to be an adult like Maya.

But no, there's a lot that I haven't talked about. And it's not something I'd probably bring up. But you're someone Minato-kun wants to be with, and beyond that, I trust you, Shiho-chan. Even if you saw it, I don't think you'd go running around yelling it to the entire town.

[ It's fine; Maya doesn't draw back, and Shiho can pick up all sorts of things just a shallow level. Contentment, that they're having girly bonding. Curiosity, still (always). Happiness, that Shiho trusts her enough for this, and a warm trust of her own.
But just underneath all of this is something like... bittersweet nostalgia. As though Maya's recalling something from this, something she can never return to. ]
[What embarrassing, embarrassing feelings. Shiho's expression twists into something that is trying desperately not to be bashful.
It helps that underneath there's something bittersweet lurking and so she... lets go. That's too far to go into something she shouldn't be looking at.]
